THE YORKSHIRE DALES WORKSHOP CAPTURE AND CREATE NOVEMBER 2024 Sold Out

Yorkshire Dales Workshop Destination summary

This year’s Capture and Create workshop location will feature  The Yorkshire Dales National Park in the north west of England. This Yorkshire Dales workshop will explore three valleys within the National Park featuring wide 0pen moorlands, valleys, rustic stone farm buildings, dry stone walls, waterfalls and little villages full of Yorkshire charm.

The TV classics like Emmerdale, Heartbeat and All Creatures Great and Small where all filmed here and at this time of the year the trees should still have their colourful autumn colour on show.

Combined with some good autumn light, the Dales promise to produce some great locations  that you can not just capture but also create a couple of gorgeous prints to take home.

The Dales straddle the North Yorkshire Pennines ( with a little in Cumbria) and are a world away from the hustle and bustle of the northern cities that lie to the west and south.

Join me on this productive workshop in one of the most historic and evocative parts of the UK this Autumn. Only 4 places available so book now

Locations

After meet up in near Kirby Steven (or Penrith )  we will focus on three main areas to the north and west of the central Pennines around Swaledale that offer a variety of subject matter, plus a stop at famous Wensleydale to sample their wonderful Cheese .

Ribblesdale

Running north to south along the Ribble river this valley has several dramatic subjects including Ribblehead Viaduct, Catrigg Force and both Pot and Somerset Scars.

Ingleton

Plentiful Waterfalls, Limestone landscapes and Dentdale valley with Dent, its pretty cobbled village.

Wensleydale

Famous for more than scenery, we’ll make sure we stock up and sample the local cheese and aquaint ourselves with the quirks of Wallace and Gromit on our way up to Swaledale.

Swaledale

Running east to west Pretty Swaledale feels more remote and is a prime location for classic patchwork fields with criss cross drystone walls and stone farm barns. It’s also home to waterfalls and cascades and we’ll explore some of these options should the light be favorable.

The Sessions

I’ve tweaked this workshop format to offer more time on location, editing and critique. On day 3 you’ll have the opportunity to create two A3 prints on high quality Fine Art Rag paper. You can take these home with you and Glen will provide hard tubes to keep them safe in transit on the trip home.

Capture and create places are limited to 4 guests so book your spot now.
