Destination summary
This one to one or small group Edinburgh Photo Tour unlocks some of the secrets and techniques of urban landscape or street photography while exploring Scotland’s captivating capital city. You’ll be accompanied on foot by professional, award-winning Master Photographer, Glen Campbell.
Known as the “Athens of the North” or “Auld Reekie”, Edinburgh’s streets, lanes and closes are well worn with centuries of fascinating history. At its focal point sits a fortress, Edinburgh Castle perched high on a volcanic rock above the city.
Other highlights on the Edinburgh Photo Tour include churches, grave yards, old lanes, a hidden village, Unesco World Heritage listed architecture, parks and monuments and the city’s quirkier side.
You’ll learn about tuning into the environment around you to create silhouettes, abstracts, juxtapositions, motion blurring , what makes a classic blank and white , story telling and more.
On the technical side we’ll explore focal lengths, shooting modes and composition.
I lived in Edinburgh for 2 years and loved the freedom that the city offers.
There is so much going in the centre of this compact city, which makes exploring it on foot pretty easy with just a couple of hilly bits to negotiate.
Some tours can aim to finish at a good vantage point at dusk (other times on request) to capitalise on the golden hour over the city should the conditions be favourable. So the exact time start time will depend upon the time of year and your preference.
Group size
Solo or with a couple of friends, associates or partners – max 4 participants

Waterproof / shower proof rain jacket and comfy shoes / boots* –
