Destination summary
The Isle of Skye needs little introduction to landscape and adventure photographers. The iconic images of the Old Man of Storr, the Cuillin Mountains and the Quiraing are all iconic landmarks that have received global recognition from photographers around the world.
During your time on this Skye workshop you’ll be taken to some of the best locations plus a few others off the beaten track and advised how to maximise the potential of each session at each location.

These sessions are ran on demand and subject to availability. Please note sessions run from late August to early June only. The Island gets too busy over the summer period.

Itinerary

Sessions: 3 x 8 hour photo sessions* on location on the Isle of Skye
Longer day sessions are available with applicable fees at certain times of year.
At the end of the first days sessions we’ll visit local Highland pub for a bite to eat and drink and review your days work.
Pick up day 1 – Inverness at 8am or your Skye accommodation at 9:30
On location: explore and photograph a range of Skye locations
Drop off day day 3 – Inverness 18:30 or your Skye accommodation at 16:30
Start / end times may vary depending on the time of year – * full day sessions can be split into two when the days are longer in late spring or late summer to offer better conditions at dusk.
Experience level
Each solo session can be tailored to each participant –
- Beginners learning the ropes and finding their way around their camera
- Photographers with experience and a good understanding wishing to increase their skillset and capture great images
- Advanced and seasoned photographers seeking out the optimum from their equipment and each location
Partners are also welcome to join as additional participants, just bring your walking boots and perhaps a good book for longer sessions.
Accommodation
You may already be based on Skye or nearby and have accommodation and if thats the case you’ll be picked up and dropped off there.
If not we’ll need accommodation for the night, this is additional and can be from as little as £25 p/p for shared bunk house accommodation or £80 – £110 p/p (single occupancy) for hotel accommodation with breakfast. Full details and costs based on your requirements are available on request.
The Learning
We never stop learning. On this Isle of Skye workshop being on location is a refreshing and practical way to dramatically increase your skills whether your gaining confidence with your camera and equipment or mastering creative competitions or subtle use of filer systems.
In outdoor photography reading the conditions and anticipating what might happen next are all important decisions.
Matching the right location to the elements and light quality are key to creating successful images in camera.
Not only that its great fun enjoying and taking in the wild surroundings and adapting to new skills learnt. Whatever your needs Glen is more than prepared to assist you and guide you through your on personal photography journey.
If possible please bring some of your recent images for retrospective critique and review.
