Capture and Create Photoshop workshop – The Lake District, England
Trip summary
This workshop is the second in a series of Capture and Create Photoshop workshops taking place at a different and inspiring location each year. This year the stunningly beautiful Lake District in the north of England will provide the images and inspiration.
Each workshop will combine dusk and dawn sessions around a featured location, Derwent water will provide the initial setting and images for our first editing sessions.
Further practical capture sessions will be around Grassmere, Rydal and the Langdales, all within easy reach of our accommodation.
During the day and dark evenings, Photoshop tutorials and editing sessions will get to grips with Adobe Camera RAW workflow and the tools and techniques used in refining the creative image editing process.
Capture and Create
For many photographers image editing is a continued work in progress. The editing tools have pretty much remained the same in the digital darkroom but our vision, style and effective use of these tools keeps evolving as expectation and trends change over time. From creating classic varied tone Black and White images to simple but powerfully evocative colour prints you’ll get the chance to breakdown and learn some of the editing processes for both and take an objective view of your own.
It’s also easy to get stuck in a creative rut and become uninspired with a particular process, dipping into presets to fill the creative gaps in our workflow. So with these sessions we will steer away from presets and explore alternative methods and ideas to create stunning colour and black and white photographs.
During this Lake District workshop we’ll use fresh examples and adapt a simplified and structured RAW workflow that will help you refine your editing process. We’ll discuss editing techniques and look at historical examples of post production. A mixture of technical understanding and creativity is essential to unlock the potential of any RAW file. Finally you’ll get the chance to choose one of your edited images and create an A3 print it on a Canon Pro Printer to take home.
Whether you want to present a clear unaltered vision of your captured image or adapt a more creative interpretation of a scene or place this workshop will help you in achieving those goals.
